If your Aylesford home is overdue some attention, staircase renovation is one of the highest-impact ways to refresh it. DP Carpentry Property Services has worked on 1930s semis, new-build estates, and everything in between across Maidstone. We know which materials suit which properties, which finishes hold up, and which trends are worth following — and which aren't.
A staircase renovation can completely transform your hallway. We replace worn treads, dated spindles, and tired handrails with modern or traditional alternatives, breathing new life into the heart of your home.
Serving Aylesford & Maidstone
If you're in Aylesford (ME20) or nearby — Maidstone (4mi), Larkfield (1mi), Snodland (3mi) — your staircase renovation project is well within our regular working area. The M20 J5 keeps logistics simple and quotes accurate.
What Aylesford Homes Typically Need
Working on riverside cottage in Aylesford is very different from working on a new-build estate. We carry the fixings, materials and experience for both — useful when staircase renovation jobs span more than one type of property.
Our Staircase Renovation Scope of Work
- New treads, risers, and strings
- Spindle and newel post replacement
- Glass balustrade options
- Staircase cladding kits
- Handrail replacement and refinishing
Why Aylesford Properties Are Different
Many properties in Maidstone's town centre are Victorian or Edwardian with lime plaster walls — we use appropriate fixings and techniques to avoid cracking
Access & logistics: Maidstone town centre properties often have limited parking — we arrange parking permits in advance and carry materials in to avoid delays on your project.
Seasonal tip: Kent's clay soil means ground movement is common in summer droughts. If you're planning decking or a garden room, autumn through spring is ideal for stable foundations.
Common Considerations for Maidstone Properties
- Uneven floors in older properties — we level subfloors before any flooring installation
- Lime plaster walls that need careful fixing methods rather than standard raw plugs
- Period properties with non-standard door sizes requiring bespoke solutions
Aylesford sits near the M20 corridor, and we're often passing through on our way to projects in this part of Maidstone. That regular presence means quick site visits, fast quote turnarounds, and faster start dates than firms travelling from further afield.
