Where We Work in Nonington
Nonington sits in the Dover District Council area, just off the A20. For trex decking jobs, that matters: our van's loaded each morning at a depot 7 miles away, so we're rarely more than a short drive from your front door.
What We've Learned Working Across Nonington
Georgian and Victorian properties around Castle Street and the seafront have solid chalk and flint walls with unique fixing requirements
Access & logistics: Dover's steep topography means some properties have challenging access. We assess this during the initial survey and plan accordingly for material handling and scaffolding.
Seasonal tip: Coastal exposure in Dover means external carpentry needs to withstand salt spray and high winds. We use stainless steel fixings and recommend composite or treated hardwood over softwood for any external work.
Common Considerations for Dover Properties
- Salt air corrosion requiring marine-grade hardware and treated timber
- Chalk and flint walls requiring specialist drilling and fixings
- Exposed coastal locations requiring wind-resistant construction for garden rooms and decking
From the streets around the White Cliffs through to the outlying areas of Nonington, we've completed decking jobs in just about every kind of property. That breadth of experience translates directly into better advice and better results for your home.

Our Proven Decking Process
Here is how a trex decking job in Nonington actually runs, from first visit to final tidy-up:
- 1
Garden Survey
We visit your garden, assess the ground conditions, and discuss your requirements — size, shape, levels, and material preference. This is where the detail of your trex decking in Nonington gets pinned down.
- 2
Decking Design
We create a design including dimensions, board direction, step positions, and any additional features like lighting or balustrades. Older Nonington properties often need extra care here, so we allow time for it.
- 3
Ground Preparation
The area is cleared, levelled, and prepared with a weed membrane. Concrete pads or adjustable pedestals are positioned for the framework. Older Nonington properties often need extra care here, so we allow time for it.
- 4
Framework Construction
A strong, level joist framework is constructed from treated timber, with proper spacing and ventilation for long-term durability. This is where the detail of your trex decking in Nonington gets pinned down.
- 5
Board Laying
Decking boards are laid with consistent spacing, secured with screws or hidden clips, and trimmed neatly at all edges. On trex decking jobs in Nonington this is where most of the questions get answered.
- 6
Finishing & Extras
Steps, fascia boards, balustrades, and lighting are installed. The deck is cleaned and any staining or oiling is applied. Materials are checked against the Nonington quote before this stage starts.

Trex offers three main ranges: Enhance (entry-level), Select (mid-range), and Transcend (premium). Each offers different colour options, performance levels, and price points.

What does a trex decking quote for Nonington include?
Labour, materials, fixings, waste removal and VAT where it applies, all itemised. We price Nonington jobs after seeing the property, so the figure accounts for access, parking around CT16 and the condition of what is already there.
Will trex decking suit an older property in Nonington?
A lot of Nonington housing is coastal Victorian terrace and clifftop home, where walls are rarely square and floors rarely level. We scribe and pack rather than force a fit, which is why trex decking in older CT16 homes needs measuring on site rather than ordering off a plan.
